Origins / Background
Ron Mark Peters started in music before Kindergarten with a curiosity of his
grandmothers Grand Piano and 1953 Theater Organ. Coming from a multitalented
and musical family consisting of no less than 2 music teachers, a Concert Pianist,
an Opera and Choral singer, a Big Band Leader and more, it was natural for Ron to
get into music at a very young age. Initially taking music and piano lessons from his
mother and grandmother, then several music teachers in school and also music
professor Erik “Doc” Ericsson. By the time Ron was out of High School he had learned
most of his music theory as well as the ability to play a variety of instruments including
Piano, Organ, Synthesizers, Trumpet, Cornet, Flugelhorn, Bugle, Mellophone, Lyricon,
and most Percussion instruments. Ron also was very proficient in Computers,
Audio Visual / Video, Multimedia, lighting and sound over the years becoming an
audio engineer and recording artist as well as playing live gigs. Ron and his vocalist,
Laura Grace Robles (Birthday Gurl) play live gigs without any pre-recorded loops or
tracks, no Ableton, no computer. Everything is played live. It has always been Ron’s
belief that a live performance should be exactly that, LIVE and that fans love to see
the musicians creating the music for real, live and in person. Ron started recording his
original songs using the Yamaha Personal Studio System in which a 4-Track cassette
recorder is a part of. Ironically his first song to see actual live airplay on FM radio
was recorded on this same 4 tracker and first aired on KBCO in Denver Colorado
in 1985 long before YouTube etc. Today the focus is on a new album coming
December 6th, 2025: “Spectrum - A Musical Journey” which takes the listener on a
mythical voyage through Time and Space by way of Music. Ron has accumulated
over 100 synths as well as tons of various audio, PA, and recording gear in the past
46 years, some things have come and gone, others have been around since the
beginning starting with a Casio VL-Tone Ron got for Christmas 1979.
